The unifying theme of the Axis Materials with Controlled Porosity of the Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse UMR CNRS-UHA 7361 is the development of controlled porosity solids for applications in the field of adsorption, mechanical energy storage, environment protection and catalysis with the following objectives:
- Elaborate new 3D porous structures and develop synthesis, functionalization and shaping processes,
- Characterize the structure at different scales by coupling the X-ray diffraction on powder and solid-state NMR to optimize the materials and their properties,
- Assess the adsorption capacities of compounds (ions, molecules, polymers) in gas phase and in liquid phase by porous materials,
- Obtain efficient systems based on porous solids for the storage or absorption of mechanical energy.
